Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy (CIT), is a minimally invasive procedure that uses tiny needles to create microscopic trauma to the skin, which generated the formation of new collagen. This procedure creates smoother, firmer skin. It is primarily used on the face to treat wrinkles, pores, and texture. It can be used to diminish the appearance of scars and stretch marks. The minimum of three treatments are recommended. If treating acne scars or stretch marks, 6-8 treatments are recommended.

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a derivative of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) where platelets and leukocytes are present in a complex fibrin to accelerate the healing, rejuvenation and promote hair growth. Platelet-rich fibrin is free of additives and chemicals which in return does not have a burning sensation such as PRP.

The PRF is richer in platelets and has longer-lasting growth factors for maximum stimulation and best results. This process results in stimulation of the hair follicle to promote hair growth and prolong the growth cycle.

The best candidates for PRF for hair restoration are people with androgenic alopecia, which is thinning on top of the head or widening of the part with normal hair. PRP works best for people with hair loss for less than three years.

On average, you will need one treatment a month for 3-4 months initially. If the hair loss is moderate to severe, you may need 5-6 treatments initially. After completion of the initial series, you will need maintenance once every 4-6 months.

During treatment, your blood is drawn and is spun down in a centrifuge. Once your PRF is obtained, they are injected into your scalp.

Results will vary. Some people will notice a decrease in shedding as soon as a few days after the first treatment. Others may need more treatments before they see a decrease in shedding. Some people may still have shedding but have increased thickness of the hair. Some people feel that after the third treatment, their hair feels thicker and the texture has improved. It is possible that some people will not see any changes for up to 8 months.
